It is with great sadness we have to tell you that after a short illness dear Alfie has had to be put to sleep. Alfie came back to kennels last year after 3 and a half years in a loving home when his owner became too ill to look after him. But following an appeal on here a new family came forward and took Alfie into their hearts and their home. They are understandably devastated by their loss and our thoughts are with them.
Alfie was such a loving boy who craved affection. He made friends easily and will be much missed by his family and his greyhound friend Poppy who he would chase after in the park most days.
Alfie your life may have been shorter than we all would have wished but it was a life surrounded by people who loved you very much. We take much comfort from that. Sleep tight sweetheart you will never be forgotten.
This photo sums up Alfie the cuddle monster perfectly. He couldn’t have been more loved.
It is with regret we announce that Mark and Dawn Stiff have resigned from their roles with Greyhound Homer.
We will always be grateful for all the fantastic hard work they have both put in during their time with us, going above and beyond the call of duty to ensure the very best outcomes for our homeless hounds.
We hope they enjoy their new found leisure time and wish them all the very best for the future.
Many thanks to the staff at Pets at Home Martlesham for hosting another Meet and Greet for us. We took along kennel dogs Mac and L.J and foster dog Billy. All proved a real hit with the staff and customers alike. Several of our homed dogs came along to say hello and Storm liked the whole meet and greet experience so much he stayed and helped all day. Visit our facebook page to see photos of their day.
We have erected a clock and planted a tub of flowers in memory of Fred. A gentle and kind giant of a dog.
We will be at Pets at Home, Beardmore Park, Martlesham Heath IP5 3RU between 10am and 3pm tomorrow (Friday 15th April) showing our lovely hounds off to the public. We would love to see you there.
Hope you like it!
All the information contained in the old website has been included here, and we’ve added a “Homing Process” page. We will be making further improvements and additions over the coming months.
The main change is the addition of this blog – we will be posting here regularly about greyhounds we’ve homed, walks, events, and anything else that takes our fancy.
Please let us know if you have anything to contribute or any comments!
