I know it`s not really holiday time of year , but just thought would let you know of a great place to stay in the Lake District . Jenny and Stuart Stott run a b+b in Witherslack which is very dog friendly . They both have 2 Greyhounds of their own ( Indie and Sandy ) and usually have a couple of foster hounds in residence . We stayed there in July and could not have wished for a nicer place to stay . Casper came also for a small extra charge of £2.50 per night which included a comfy bed and a dog treat every day . The food was amazing and Jenny and Stuart were great hosts . Also there is a pub 2 minutes walk away where dogs were welcome in the bar or restaurant . cant praise this place enough so if any of you thinking of visiting the lakes in the future would certainly reccomend staying here . They have a website which is http://www.longleggedbeauties.co.uk

We stayed there on our way back from Skye in October with Olive and Stan. Very nice people and very understanding of greyhounds. The first thing Stan did when we were shown our room was jump on the bed . Jenny didn't blink an eye and just pointed out the throw we could use if the dogs wanted to sleep on the bed with us! The pub was excellent too - they had given us a table in a busy bit of the pub but when they saw how nervous Stan was they found us a quiet table out of the way where he could relax. Nice walk in the nature reserve down the road too.
We also bought a dog bed from them - £15 for a greyhound size with fur-fabric cover and they both love it if there isn't a sofa available of course  (proceeds to their local greyhound rescue).

Thanks for putting this on the forum, it's always nice to have personal reccomendations and to know your greys will be welcome too. Finances permitting will probably book for April.

Thanks for the tip! We love the Lakes and so does Penny (don't know if you have seen the pics we posted from our camping trip at easter?)

We normally camp if we go away but this is good to know if we decide to go out of the camping season.

Thanks again!

Only downer for us with it was that it's quite near a main road so if you are country bumpkins like us the road noise at night was quite noticeable - townies would probably wonder what the problem was

Am sure anyone who is thinking of going will have a good time . Must admit I could hear the sound of traffic on the first night but was not so bad as to affect my sleep . Did not notice it so much on second night - maybe the beer helped :D
