Born in March 2019 Gus (racing name Coolhill Duster) is a big lively lad who loves his treats. He can seem rather exuberant when he first comes out of his kennel but soon settles. He has a gentle nature, a bit of a gentle giant. He loves human company and playing in the paddock with his ball. He is currently sharing his kennel nicely with another dog.
Update 31/03/23. Gus had great fun in the paddocks yesterday when he played endlessly with his tennis balls. He was shattered by the time he had finished. He also had lots of treats and a game with his teddy bear.
Gus is such a happy fun loving boy. If you follow Facebook do look at his video.
Update 29/05/23 Gus had a lovely day out when he joined us on our monthly walk. He was extremely well behaved given it was his first social event outside of racing. He got on well with everyone both human and canine, ably assisted Barb his volunteer when she was giving out leaflets and he walked calmly and ignored bicycles and small dogs so who knows maybe he can live with another dog.
Update 27/08/23.
Gus had a fabulous time at our annual picnic. He didn’t really mind that the walk had to be cut short because of the heavy downpour. In fact he really enjoyed being in the village community centre where he made lots of new friends and ate lots of sausages. He was described by some who met him as a real love bug and a clever boy for being more interested in the tray of sausages than the single one he was being offered. That really tickled his volunteer Barbara as you can see from the photo.
Gus loves his food and if he could fool his kennel hands into thinking thay had forgotten to give him his dinner he would happily eat two!
