November Update

100th Greyhound Homer Greyhound of 2011!

100th

This is Bluebelle who went home last weekend along with four other lucky hounds. Her delighted new owners Bridie and Keith Martin said " She is a lovely girl and is already learning her name and how things are here."
We are now at the amazing level of 106 greyhounds in homes which has surpassed last years total by such a long way already and we are not finished yet!

Congratulations to Bridie and Keith and also to the lucky girl Bluebelle now called Bella from all at Greyhound Homer.

October Update

A record month with sixteen greyhounds finding their forever homes in October. Plus an inspection from Head Office which was a good opportunity to show off our excellent facilities. Now we have had an intake of Black Beauties click here to see them all.

We had our second Quiz Night at nacton Village Hall and it was a sell out! Thank you to everyone who came along and made it a special night raising £2000 for the hounds.

Show season is almost at an end and what a summer it has been, new shows mixed in with old favourites. Even more importantly lots of lovely homes for our hounds has been the result. We are looking at a record year which is amazing.

Still to come are the Quiz NIght on the 1st of October followed by the Robin Hood Show in 8th and 9th of October. We will be putting on a fun classes on the 9th for all hounds and their pals.

Lucy who won our Greyhound Homer Show at Easter represented us at the Great Greyhound Gathering on the 17th of September and because of the amazing calibre of entries she wasn't picked this time but did get a second in the 'Best Condition' so that shows how gorgeous she is. Well done Lucy!

What an Easter weekend we have just had! Our first ever Dog Show, lots of people, hundreds of dogs of all shapes and sizes!

Aztec invited us to have a stand and a show ring, we jumped at the chance and set about finding judges and sorting classes. Roger and Carol Gregory very kindly agreed to judge our first show which was for all sighthounds. It was great fun with Italian greyhounds, whippets, lurchers and also greyhounds. It was lovely to see so many of the greyhounds we had homed in the past come along with their families looking so well and happy.

On Easter Monday the weather was a little kinder and cooled by a few degrees, Julie Dennis was our judge for the day and she had a very hard job choosing the best in each category but also lovely as it is so good to see such fine examples of the breed. It was a busy weekend as we were there for all four days of Easter but it was such a good show I am sure we will be there again next year. So if you enjoyed it make it a date in your diary for next year!

Best in Show 201
