We have had good news from recently homed Barney’s family.
He has settled very well and gets on with his new friend Cassie like a house on fire. They play together in the garden and curl up together for a snooze. Barney is eating well and has discovered the delights of a Tuna pasta bake. He has a big stuffed elephant that he tosses around the garden, well, that’s when he isn’t busy digging! Cheeky little monkey we are so pleased for him.
Yesterday was day two of the Suffolk Show for us and our wonderful hounds. Blimey it was hot! We decided to take them home by 14.30 as it was too tiring and uncomfortable for them. However they had a great time while they were there, enjoying hot dogs and ice creams. They were even featured on the Lesley Dolphin show on Radio Suffolk.
For more photos of their day out please visit our Facebook page.
Yunny enjoying his Ice Cream.
Yunny front stage on the Radio Suffolk stand. Nassau and volunteer dog Gracie took the sensible option and went back stage where it was cooler.
Thanks to all who stopped by the Greyhound Homer stand at the Suffolk Show today, and to all our lovely volunteer greyhounds and humans. Three kennel dogs, Boycie, Heather and Oscar, were great ambassadors for all their friends in kennels. See our facebook page for many more photos. If you’re at the Suffolk Show tomorrow, be sure to say hello at stand White 892.
We think it’s safe to say Charlie has well and truly settled into home life!
Didn’t think it would take this gentle giant long to find the sofa.
Thank you to the R.S.P.C.A Martlesham for inviting us to take part in their fun day today. We took along Mundo, Nassau and Yunny. It was the first social event they had attended. Well what little Superstars they were. Yunny wanted to be at the front of the stand from the off and barely stopped greeting people all day, Nassau was very laid back and enjoyed lots of fuss. Poor Mundo had a terrible experience when he first arrived. He was shouted at by 2 dogs. Well that sent him diving for cover beneath Volunteer Sue’s skirt! However after a cuddle behind the stand and a spell on Sue’s lap he soon regained his confidence and enjoyed the rest of the day.
We were visited by several of our homed hounds and they did a fantastic job, helping out on the stand by promoting their fellow hounds that are still waiting to be chosen.

Here is a photo of recently homed Jock. His family say he is settling in really well and joined them last weekend when they took part in a show. They travel far and wide to take part in re-enactments so Jock will get to see and meet lots of new people. Who knows he could be called upon to take part himself.
Thank you to Greyhound Walks for inviting us to join them for their walk today at Sudbury. What a beautiful walk it was too and we received a warm welcome back at the Mill Hotel. For more photos from todays walk please visit our Facebook page.
Kennel dogs Pearl, Boycie, Trigger and Arthur had a day out at the Hadleigh Show today. With the exception of Arthur they were a little overwhelmed to start with as it was the first time they had been to a social event but they soon settled and had a nice time.
We were visited by friends old and new. We even had a Royal visitor. No not one of the Windsors, it was Cree Royal who went home yesterday. What a little superstar he proved to be! His tail barely stopped wagging. He will be a fantastic ambassador for his greyhound friends still waiting for their forever home.
The tombola proved to be a very popular addition to our stand. Well done to Angie for organising that, to Mathew, Hannah and Julie for manning it and many thanks to those who donated prizes.

Boycie makes friends.
Please note We have been advised by one of our owners that there will be a road closure at Ballingdon Street which is the road coming in from Braintree / Halstead (A131) etc. If there are diversions in place you may want to allow a little extra time on your journey.
Good news! Barney has been reserved today and will be going home once he has had his man op.
Wally, another gorgeous Blue boy has arrived and is now on our homeless hounds page. Wally is the Son of Toosey Blue and Blonde Jeannie, we have successfully rehomed so many of their offspring, they are all delightful dogs and Wally is no exception.
