Puffa, Pants and June

Here are Puffa, Pants and June who have all gone home in the last couple of days.  How lovely to see that although Puffa and Pants are not in a kennel they still like to lay together.
June seemed to settle into her new home almost immediately.  She had a good nose around everywhere and then ate a massive bowl of food. No first day nerves from this lovely girl.

Suffolk Dog Day

Wow! What a day! We were rushed off our feet talking about our greyhounds with potential new owners and old friends. The sun shone, and the steady stream of visitors to our stall did not stop all day.

Queenie had a lovely day away from kennels – she showed us that she wants to friends with everybody and worked hard to make sure that everybody knows how amazing greyhounds are all day, she didn’t want to miss out on anything.
As usual, more photos available on our facebook page.

Golf day raises in excess of £3.3k

Huge thanks to Chris Waters IMG_6739 (2) (Large)(seen here with Swift Keith) for raising in excess of £3,300 (final total to be confirmed) by organising a golf day in aid of Greyhound Homer at the Brett Vale Golf Club yestoday. Kennel dogs Rockie, Dexter, Davey and Queenie enjoyed much attention during their afternoon out as they greeted the golfers on their way back to the clubhouse, joined by Swift Keith too. Our gratitude goes to all who supported the event.

IMG_6762 (2) (Large)All our kennel dogs were very interested in the golf balls and wanted to “help”. They enjoyed a lot of attention and behaved admirably well in the new environment, and especially enjoyed the sausages from the BBQ.   See our facebook page for more photos …IMG_6827 (2) (Large)IMG_6866 (Large)

Disappointment for Mac

After being beautifully groomed, having a pedicure and choosing a stunning collar to wear for his big day we had to break the bad news to Mac that unfortunately his date had had to cancel.  She has developed a spinal complaint within the last few days and wisely her owner has decided it might not be such a good idea to introduce a new dog into the family at the moment. We all wish her a speedy recovery. Mac is such a happy and laid back chap and is coping with his disappointment admirably .

Update!!!  What is it they say about one door closing and another one opening? Well that was certainly the case for Mac. After his initial disappointment earlier today he has now been reserved by another family. Great news for this lovely lad.

Holden aka Younger

We have had news and a couple of lovely photos of Holden.  This is what his owner had to say.
“We found a field full of rye with a footpath and I thought I would use the opportunity to get a picture given he’s named after Holden from Catcher in the Rye. He has been amazing for me, I am so happy to have him in my life.”
We are so pleased Holden is having such a wonderful life.

Steel (Stainless Steel)

We have had a lovely email from Steel who went home recently.  He is having a fantastic time.  He takes his owners to the park twice a day, brings them hedgehogs and loves being in his garden.  He has been a brave little Soldier sleeping downstairs on his own after 2 nights and being a good boy when he is left alone.  He met Chase in the park last week.  Chase was homed a long time ago and it was nice to have news of him too. Hope to see you soon Steely.
