We are sad to announce the passing of Max. His owners Siggi and Adrian hosted several walks for us from Ye Olde Bell and Steel Yard Woodbridge and The Ship at Blaxhall. Max lived to a ripe old age of 13 years and 10 months. Our thoughts are with Adrian and Siggi and we hope they are comforted by the many lovely memories they have of him.
In memory of Max they have generously donated £230. We are so grateful and thank them very much.
Here is Max cuddled up with Flossie above and just looking handsome below.
You might notice some changes to the website. In line with national re-branding of the Retired Greyhound Trust to the Greyhound Trust, we are now known as Greyhound Trust Suffolk. Rest assured, behind the scenes we are the same people working for the same outcomes – to provide bright futures and loving homes for greyhounds.
Many thanks to the team (Luke, Oliver and Sarah) of Saffron Builiding Society in Frinton and their customers for welcoming us into their branch today. Kennel dogs Bernie and Hattie met lots of people and were given some lovely treats. They were given duvets, towels, shredded paper and Tuna to take home and share with their kennel mates and a generous £61.25 was donated. Below is a photo of the team with Volunteer Angie, Kennel dogs Bernie and Hattie.
If you are in Frinton tomorrow you may see us. By kind invitation of the Manager and staff of the Saffron and Walden building society we will be holding a meet and greet session in their branch. We will be accompanied by kennel dogs Bernie and Hattie.
Thank you very much Danny and Alice’s mum for the generous donation you left at kennels for us. It is very much appreciated.
Another fabulous day spent at Morrisons in Little Clacton. This time it was Mickey and Sonny’s turn to join us on our meet and greet session. Thank you so much to everybody that stopped to talk to us and who made such generous donations totaling £163.83. That’s a fantastic £254.34 in just two days. Thank you all. For more photos from the meet and greet sessions please visit our Facebook page.
Thank you to the staff and customers of Morrisons in Little Clacton for making us welcome at the store for day one our meet and greet sessions and for the generous donations totaling £91.51. Kennel dog Yunny and retired dog Troy both did sterling work promoting greyhounds for the wonderful dogs they are.
We did a three hour session today. Tomorrow we aim to be there from 10am until 2pm and we hope to be joined by kennel dogs Mickey and Sonny.
Yunny with a visitor to our stand
This was the first time Troy and Yunny had met. They soon became firm friends.
Many thanks to Mandy one of our kind supporters who recently celebrated a special birthday In lieu of presents she asked for donations for two of her favourite charities. We were one of them and are most grateful for the donation of £195. Thanks Mandy from all at Greyhound Homer we hope you enjoyed your party.
At a couple of our recent shows volunteer Angie has successfully run a Tombola stall which has proved popular and is a great way of raising much needed funds. If you have any items you no longer need which you think might be suitable we would be very grateful for them. If you could drop them at kennels, bring them to one of our walks or pop them to your nearest volunteer that would be much appreciated. In the first instance please ring either Avril or Sue if you need to know where your nearest Volunteer can be found. Thank you.
Once again we were made very welcome on Manningtree Market when we held our meet and greet to celebrate National Greyhound Day on Saturday Many thanks to Toni for giving us a pitch and to Stobbs Butchers for the bones which were gratefully received by our kennel dogs Thanks also to everybody who stopped to chat and donated so generously For more photos please visit our Facebook Page.
Oscar is hoping this is a winning pose
June did an outstanding job at her first event. It was her birthday and we thank her for choosing to spend it promoting our hounds that are waiting for their forever homes
