Kennel dogs Sonny and Mickey went to their first meet and greet on Saturday when they were taken to Manningtree market. They were well behaved considering they hadn’t been to a town before, met so many people all at once or met other breeds of dogs. They enjoyed all of the fuss and cuddles they received. Well done boys! Many thanks to Toni and Manningtree Chamber of Trade for allowing us to have a stall, to Stobbs Butchers for the massive boxes of bones and last but by no means least to everybody that stopped to say hello, made a donation or bought our merchandise. We hope to be back on the market later in the year.

A spectacular £850 was raised for Greyhound Homer Suffolk last night. Thanks to Kevin and Mandy for organising the event (for the sixth time!), Travellin’ Light for the entertainment, for everybody who donated raffle prizes and to everybody who came along. Hopefully a good time was had by all!

Davey, Cracker and their kennel friend Beanie helped raise money for the East Anglian air ambulance on Sunday when they took part in an event held at Gt Glemham Hall.  They completed a 5 mile walk around the beautiful estate and surrounding countryside before heading back to have a look around the various trade stands.  They received lots of fuss from the organisers and other walkers and shared a jumbo hot dog and various treats.  It was best friends Cracker and Beanie’s first event but old hand Davey with his show experience and his wonderful air of superiority soon taught them that slippery wooden bridges and steps were nothing to be afraid of.  Well done to Davey, such a helpful boy.

Many thanks to Louis and Linda for arranging a dance in aid of Greyhound Homer.  Their hard work resulted in a fantastic £400 being raised.  Our thanks to all who donated raffle prizes and gave such generous donations.  It is very much appreciated.

We have now counted all of the money kindly donated by John Wolton and his family and friends.  John opted for money for the greyhounds in lieu of presents on the occasion of his 50th birthday.  The total amount raised was an amazing £410.68. A big thank you to John and his family and friends.
We are grateful to all of our supporters for their contributions whether they be monetary donations, cake making, time giving,  arranging events for us or attending our walks and shows to help us promote greyhounds.  We couldn’t do what we do without you.  Thank you all very much indeed.

 

 

Wow! What generous supporters we have. This afternoon the retired dogs have been to John Walton’s fiftieth birthday party / fete. John asked his guests for donations to Greyhound Homer instead of presents for himself. What a lovely gesture. We all had a great time. Thank you so much John for inviting us.
