We are changing our kennel bedding to duvets and blankets.
If you, your friends, family or work colleagues have any you no longer need we would be most grateful for them.
They can be dropped off at kennels any day, the best times would be between 10am and noon or 2pm and 4pm but please if they are not convenient times for you do let us know and we will arrange a time that is.

I’m Dapper Larry and as many of you know because you have kindly shared my Facebook appeals I have been with my foster family for several months now. I have actually been retired since April 24. I’m still quite young, I wasn’t even born until August 2021 and I am still a dapper young man.
They say I have come on leaps and bounds since living with my foster family and my housemates Danny and Liaka.
I have really grown up in many ways, become more confident when out walking, I’m no longer banned from the kitchen unless there is food on the worktops cooling.
One thing that hasn’t changed is that I love to be with Danny and Liaka and although they are too old to play with me they do let me play with their things (I do sometimes break them I’m afraid) and they give me confidence when I go out for a walk.
I really love my foster family but I know they can’t keep me forever because there are probably other dogs like me who would like the help I have been given.
When I find my forever home I would love to have another dog to be with and hopefully play with or someone who is around a lot who would love playing me.
As you can see from my photos I love an ear rub and I can chill out.

We are urgently seeking a foster home (or a permanent home would be the icing on the cake) for Blake (Russian Blake). DOB 13/07/18
Blake has been in his home since August 2023 and has lived happily with a bitch. Unfortunately due to his family’s now extended working hours Blake isn’t coping at all with being left for the longer hours. He would be best suited to someone who is around most of the time.
Blake is lovely lad who has blossomed in his current home. He has a special harness for walking and a muzzle because he can be spooked by off lead and out of control dogs approaching him. Like many dogs he is rather keen on wildlife!
We really would like Blake to be fostered or adopted in a home to home situation because after being in a home for so long we really don’t want him to have to come back to kennels unless it is absolutely necessary.
Sadly we are seeking a home for Norman (Raging Rocket) due to a change in family circumstances.
Norman was born in March 2016 and so is approaching his ninth birthday.
Here is what Normans current owner has said about him.
“He is a lovely boy but suffers with anxiety however once he gets to know you he is really good and relaxed.
He has taken retirement to a whole new level and loves nothing more than sleeping.
He is entirely house trained and loves going out for a walk getting quite animated if he sees a Squirrel.
For the last 2 years Norman has lived with a cat which came to us as a kitten and he does not bat an eyelid even if the cat walks over him.
He is also good with other dogs he has a Lurcher as a friend and has lived with two small dogs.
Norman really needs someone who has got time to spend with him and give him the love and affection he deserves. He would do well living with another dog.
Ultimately I just want whats best for Norman”.
Rest assured we will do all we can to find Norman a new family. In the meantime his owner will keep him rather than him having to come back to kennels.

We are appealing again for a home for Larry (Dapper Larry)
This darling boy has come a long way since being with in his foster home. They have recently sent us this update.
Below is a warts and all account of Larry’s personality and behavior.
Absolutely nothing that cannot be remedied and his loving nature far outweighs any little quirks he might have.

Larry
“The first thing I would say about Larry is that he is adorable, loves people and enjoys having fuss made of him, including cuddles. He has a lovely nature and is not aggressive at all.
Positives first:
He has settled well and is completely clean in the house, giving us quite clear indication when he needs to go out.
He is much better about chewing things – not perfect, he still eyes up the bookshelf, and still takes the odd thing at nose height that he is curious about, but mainly if he has got too bored or we are there and he thinks we are not paying him enough attention!
We still close the kitchen door if there is food out he can easily reach but otherwise we can let him in.
He loves toys, mainly extraction and chewing squeakers and pulling out all the stuffing – even from ’tough’ toys.
He has also got a lot better around us eating. He knows no noses on the table but will also behave well and settle in his bed if we decide to eat on our laps.
He will eat well in the same room with the other dogs and usually holds back (very occasionally he forgets himself), although he does want to make sure every bowl is spotless at the end of breakfast or supper!
He walks well on the escape proof harness you provided, we have stopped using the fishtail collar as he does not like it and behaves better with harness alone. He shows interest in small dogs and cats when out but has not yet tried to investigate or try to pick one up.
He is very curious and wants to investigate everything he can.
Things to be aware of:
He is still nervous and will jump at unexpected noises and, although good on walks can be slightly spooked by traffic and screaming children are a complete no no (we had trouble getting to walk across the village playing field after crossing with loud children one day. He does not generally buck or try to run but he may refuse to continue on the same route.
He forms attachments and while that can be positive can also cause some minor issues – for example if I am at home and in sight Larry will often not go for a walk with anyone else even if the other dogs are going. Similarly, he usually only wants to walk with a pack. He will walk with me without Danny and Liaka but not with anyone else and if he thinks there are two people in the house they both have to be on the walk!
Sometimes he is a bit spooked about going out, particularly when it is dark, unless the other dogs go too, but if you can get him to the doorway will generally go out with a gentle push from behind or a custard cream being thrown out in front of him!
Because he bonds to people and has got used to use he may play up a bit when settling in somewhere new, but if fed regularly and getting ’sweeties’ as rewards I am sure he will soon attach to someone new.
For some reason he reacts to one of my sons, we cannot figure out why. If he hears him coming downstairs he will bark loudly and continue when he comes into sight. Very occasionally there is a small growl. However, this is accompanied by a waggy tail. After a few minutes he calms down and then looks rather embarrassed at the whole thing and looks hopefully for attention.
What I think he needs:
Someone to play with or a household with a dog young enough to play.
Can be left but would benefit from someone who is around a lot of the time.
What to avoid:
Household with young children or small animals.”

We are looking for a home for Larry (Dapper Larry) who is currently in foster care.
We have learned so much about Larry who was 3 in August, in the time he has been with his foster family. He has really embraced home life
He gets on well with Danny and Liaka the family’s two Greyhounds and although Danny finds having a youngster around a tad much at times Larry is very respectful of Danny.
Larry’s food manners have improved no end and he is now allowed in the kitchen when food is being prepared.
He has also discovered toys and loves to play with them although the heavy duty sort are advised as he has a tendency to cause a ‘Snow storm’ with the stuffed variety.
Larry would love to be with a family who would spend time playing with him.
He is growing in confidence when out and about, initially he found the big wide world daunting but is much improved although we would still recommend using his special harness.
We think he would thrive in a home with another dog although at this stage we don’t feel this is essential.
Here is just some of what Larry’s foster family say about him “I think Larry is going to make a super pet for someone as he is very sweet and affectionate – we get lovely greetings when we get home and in the mornings.”

We are seeking a medium term, foster home for Zola and Max with a view to a permanent adoption.
Unfortunately, this bonded pair have been returned twice for separation anxiety but they are so ready for a forever home together.
They are clean in the house, walk nicely on their leads and are affectionate and playful but are not over excitable. They have spent time with our Volunteers, enjoying a sleepover and were perfect house guests. However, they would need to be the only dogs in the home although when out and about on our monthly walks they have been fine with other dogs they have met. We just don’t think they would share a home.
If you are at home most of the time (all of the time initially) and live in a reasonably quiet household with experience of Greyhounds and you feel you could offer the boys the time, love and patience to help them overcome their separation issues and perhaps offer them a permanent home then please get in touch. Lucky (Suirview Lucas) is looking for a new family or foster family to care for him. Lucky has been much loved and cared for by his family since he went home in August 2020 but due to the saddest of circumstances within his family they are no longer able to look after him.
Lucky is 8 and a half years old, a sweet soul who although he doesn’t live with another dog we feel he may be able to do so.

Lucky’s family have said they will continue to care for him until a home can be found as neither they or us would like to see him returned to kennels unless it becomes absolutely necessary.
Unfortunately due to a change in circumstances Zola and Max are now looking for a forever home together. We cannot separate them.
The boys have had issues with separation anxiety and so are looking for a home where someone is home all of the time in the first instance to spend time working on this.
They have joined us on one of our monthly walks and behaved well.
The boys have been out with our Volunteers and they have also had a weekend break with two of them.
this is what they have said about them.:-
“Both were great in the house, they had an explore and sniff around, but settled down quickly. They laid down when travelling in the car. Zola likes to be with his human most of the time, or at least to know where they are at all times. Max is both a little nervous at times (especially with Rob), and also more inquisitive & playful. Zola being calmer but more clingy. Both slept well, Zola by the bed and Max in the lounge (in his bed, but I suspect also on the sofa!). Both gave a little whine when they needed to go out for a toilet break.
When out both dogs want to be in sight of each other at all times & both walk nicely on their leads. Max usually taking the lead, Zola happy to follow along. Both looked at other breeds of dogs with interest, but no pulling on the lead, lunging at or barking at any dogs at all. They were very well-behaved.
In the house, they seemed more relaxed to let one another out of their sight and did not lay together or need to be in the same room as each other. Both liked a cuddle & being stroked, especially Zola who was a huge cuddle monster! They are lovely stripey boys!
I think they need to be with an active couple who are around the vast majority of the time, (one person with them all the time really), either without any children or with a couple with older children/ teenagers who are interested in them. I don’t think having young children around all the time would be a good fit. These two need to be the main focus fur babies! To arrange to meet Zola and Max please contact Emma on 07889904874
