So the Dillymore team wrapped up well for a very early start this morning in Stowmarket at The Food Museum. For those who may have seen our earlier post in the week, today saw the premiere of our brand new National Greyhound Trust Gazebo. Packed to the brim with festive treats for our furry friends, the doggie Christmas stockings flew off the shelves and our tombola was extremely popular as usual.
Father Christmas made a guest appearance, which went down well with young and old alike, all eager to have their photo taken with him and the opportunity to get toys and sweeties.
Far more popular of course were our stars of the day; Delboy, (Yellow muzzle) Decs(Green Muzzle), Rosie(Pink muzzle), Bud (Red Muzzle) and later joined by Freston (Purple Muzzle).
With lots of going on at the fayre, all behaved impeccably and they absolutely lapped up all the hugs, strokes and cuddles they received from old friends and new.
Days like this are extremely important for our canine friends, as not only does it provide the opportunity for them to gain new sights and smells, as volunteers we continue that all important quest to find these beautiful animals their forever homes. Ladies and gentlemen, you didn’t disappoint, with many of you asking about the re homing process and we know that the gang made a real impression on many of you (especially Rosie and Del boy) and we do hope that we see some of you at Dillymore kennels in the near future to potentially further that re homing journey. These wonderful creatures give so much and the best Christmas present they could ever have is to curl up on your sofa, next to you.
