Our Newmarket Adventure

Well, here we are at the beginning of our events calendar for 2026 and we have a fantastic line up of events throughout this coming year.

What better way to kick off in style, but to take the gang out for the day to the Newmarket Racing Museum at their kind invitation and their Easter Pawty event.

It was an early 6am start for the volunteer morning crew who were on site by 8am, battling the brisk winds, to hold onto the leaflets which were flying everywhere and to erect our gazebos one of which took to the air! Fortunately, there were no injuries to Hounds or Humans!

Our Kennel Stars of the day were Morning Team Dolly, Zeus, Carter and Mac and afternoon Team Sally, Harry, Sam and Buddy.

As usual, our teams were impeccably behaved, with many admiring humans keen for cuddles and hugs, which the gang happily obliged.

Understandably, our wonderful boys and girls were somewhat curious with the smaller balls of fur walking around today and this is all good experience for our retired racers.

The afternoon volunteer crew valiantly battled the ongoing winds to complete the event.

As volunteers, we love nothing better than to chat about our re-homing process and we had many enquiries, especially about Dolly, Zeus and Sally.

All of the gang were tucked up nice and early in their beds, having had a super day and that includes our volunteers 🙂

What a fabulous day and thank you everyone who stopped by to say hello and chat to us about the Trust and the work we do and for supporting our stall through buying our goods, trying your luck on the tombola or giving generously to our donation buckets. All very much appreciated.

We look forward to seeing you soon at our next event.

Well done to Emma and the Events Team for organising this event and to our Volunteers who battled the elements along with huge traffic delays to make the day so successful.
