Well Done Neville

We have had news of Neville (Kilara Raptur).

You may recall Neville was affectionately known at kennels as Nervous Neville because he was so shy. With lots of love and encouragement from staff and volunteers alike Neville peeped out of his shell and was brave enough to go to our annual picnic where Volunteer Louise was smitten and took him home on foster until it was certain he would settle and get along with the handsome McCabe.

Fast forward a few weeks and what a transformation!

Neville is no longer Nervous Neville he has grown in confidence beyond all recognition. He has settled in really well, enjoys his walks, and when he was let off lead for the first time he didn’t stray far from his family and came back to the whistle and of course his beloved sausages (He is also partial to a Pigs Ear)

He gets on famously with his best friend McCabe.

Well done to Neville, his family, McCabe and all who helped Neville to become the confident lad he is today.

We know the shy ones don’t always endear themselves to all prospective families and most would prefer a quiet home in which to settle but Neville along with many other shy dogs we have homed over the years are a great example of what can be achieved with patience, love and understanding and perhaps another hound for company. They are so worth it.
